Jamaicas Finance Minster Dr Omar Davies has announced a new 12-member board for the national airline, Air Jamaica. The Minister called it 'the beginning of a new chapter in the life of Air Jamaica'. But the majority of the directors are from the old board.
The carrier will have a new chief executive officer, American, Michael Conway. Conway, an airline executive with 25 years in the business, co-founded two airlines. He also turned around a bankrupt carrier more than a decade ago.
The airline is pushing to become profitable in the medium term under the policy direction of new chairman OK Melhado and his team.
