Charges were read against Debra Douglas and Delon Fat Boy Reynolds for the murder of self-confessed police informant George Bacchus. Bacchus implicated Guyanas Minister of Home Affairs, Ronald Gajraj, as head of a local death squad. Bacchus murder raised a lot of questions but gave more credibility to the allegations. Debra Douglas reputed husband Ashton King is being held on charges for the murder of George Bacchus brother Shaffeek Bacchus. George Bacchus claimed the murder of his brother was a mistake and that he was the intended target.
After his brothers death, George Bacchus came forward with the allegations implicating the Minister and several local businessmen. Debra Douglas and her husband operated a funeral home while Delon Douglas worked as a handyman on premises occupied by George Bacchus and his family.
Meanwhile, Minister Gajraj is now on leave, as the Commission to investigate the death Squad begins its work. The Minister initially refused to submit to pressure from the opposition calling for his resignation, and denied any involvement in the death squad.
