Haiti's interim president, Gerard Latortue, has named a new date for presidential and parliamentary elections.
Provided there isn't another delay, Haitians will be going to the polls two days after Christmas, on December 27th. The country will subsequently vote in a second round of elections in late January.
It is the latest election date in a series of delays that have surrounded the Haitian elections.
It is close to two years since unrest and violence forced former President Jean-Bertrand Aristide to leave the country.
A new president and parliament must be sworn in by February. But preparations have been hampered by late and slow registration.

Voting for the right candidate
What people must relaize is that they must pick a leader who is a person of their word. Becasue when it's all said and done most times they will not keep their promises that they preach to you. So be wise and don't take anyone who is going to put your country in shambles or corruption. The people are the majority and their voices must be heard.

Some hard times but the people enjoy them selves with Elephant man and Red rat in concert.
despite some trouble Haiti face, dancehall superstars elephant man, red rat along with some haitian raggae artist, they both was at the spotlight in haiti saturday night, for the first time a dancehall artist had a concert in Haiti, the reaction from the crowd was extremely welcoming for them.
I personally think that was a great thing for the people of Haiti, they love dancehall music now to see one of the two of the best perform in person its a great thing, i hope there will be more concerts like this in the future.
