Haiti's general elections to be postponed a fourth time
Tuesday, January 3, 2006
Haiti scheduled the elections for January 8, but has struggled to keep a date for its first elections since former president Jean Bertrand Aristide was forced from office in early 2004.
Many of the 3 point 5 million registered voters have not received their electoral identification cards. Officials have yet to determine the location of the 800 voting offices and the make-up of electoral observer teams.
Meanwhile two OAS workers and one of their spouses were kidnapped. Also a Canadian policeman and a Jordanian soldier, both part of the UN stabilization force deployed following Aristide's ouster, were killed.
tpVsCn You have made some decent points there. I looked on the web to find out more about the issue and found most people will go along with your views on this site.

THERE ARE STILL HOPE FOR HAITI
"The Uses of Hait" by Paul Farmer gives us a more indept description of events that led to the situation of Haiti today. It is very sad to see Haiti in this condition because it should be in a much better position today. I believe that we should not judge Haiti with out at least have some kind of understanding situation. I still have a lot of hope that Haiti will pull itself out of this hole. Us Black folks should stick together because we are Brothers in a very true since. What happen to Haiti can happen to any other black nation. Respect

More road blocks?
Every turn the nation of Haiti has turned lately seems to be a dead end. The people are so angry at every body and everything. You people need to be united on something. For being the first country to gain independence in Latin America, Haiti should be far more advance than Jamaica, Cuba, Barbados and Trinidad put together.
Many people are trying to figure out what is holding back Haiti. No one can pin point exactly what the problem is.
I am starting to think democracy will not work in Haiti more than dictatorship.
What works for one country might not work for another. All I want to see is a UNITED HAITI with UNITED HAITIANS!

I Agree with you
Spirit I have to agree with you. I am not a raceist but it looks like it is a white world. Look at the Catholic icons, there is not one black Icon in it. King Kong also depicts black people as been primitive and people are saying it is a good Movie. I think it is a horrible Movie that exploits blackness to make Money. Look at the message that was sent. The Beast is black and the beauty is a slim white woman, could it not be a slim black woman or a another woman. Movies like those makes me sick, black is not ugly, black is beactiful.

WRONG!! WRONG!! WRONG!!
I heard that Haiti had was to pay back France money for the damages that was caused during the war. This is so wrong, I don't see the "White" people paying back the "Black" people for all those brutality they had done to us. The Holacust got their money back. It seems as if "White" people are God and they made a mistake by creating "Black" people .Why they hate us so much. Yes, we're hated by our own kind too; but I believe it's because of a survival thing where it boils back to them (Whites) they made it so impossible for us to live that some of us betray our own kind to survive or be on top of the GAME.

POOR IS A CRIME (UNFAIR)
My heart goes out to the Hitians. It's 'SAD'. They shouldn't be judged no matter what the circumstances. The people are FRUSTRATED and FED UP. who feels it knows it. Myself and others may say it's no excuse to commit vicious crimes; but unless we walk the "Walk', we have no right to "JUDGE". Some people doesn't help or sympathizes, in fact they don't care; but as soon one of their freinds/family members or themelf falls a victim then thats when they want to be embraced or embrace others. I still can't get the answer to my forever asking question !!! WHY!!!
