Baby Anya, whom we reported on last week, is alive and well, after open-heart surgery on Wednesday. The infant who turns one next month, suffered from a congenital malformation of the heart, known as Ventricular septal defect. Thanks to a successful surgery, Anya may now be able to enjoy a normal and healthy childhood. According to her doctors at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Anya is doing great and is expected to be back in the arms of her mother, Althea Samuels as soon as next week. |
