A 43-year-old businessman was killed instantly when the car he was driving collided with a truck on the Providence, East Bank Demerara road. Brian Adolphus Morgan of 79 New Road, Vreed-en-Hoop, was killed around 04:00 hrs yesterday just 100 feet away from the Providence police station. The man was reportedly traveling from Grove when the accident occurred. He had reportedly gone to the village to drop off a friend. The victim's brother, Godfrey Cole, said that police told him that his brother's car collided into a truck which was traveling in the opposite direction. Cole said he spoke to the driver of the truck, who recounted that he saw the headlights of Morgan's car approaching and pulled into the corner. The truck driver said he pulled into the corner and all he hear was blam! at the driver's side of the truck, Cole related. Another brother, Arnold Balder, said he received the news of his brother's death just after 05:00hrs yesterday morning. Adolphus's reputed wife, Allison Clarke, was in an obvious state of shock up to yesterday afternoon when Kaieteur News visited the victim's Vreed-en-Hoop home. A post-mortem on the body is expected to be conducted on Friday. Morgan is survived by a 16-year old son, 13 sisters and 11 brothers.
