Jamaica has captured both sprint relay titles to become the first country ever to sweep all the sprint gold medals on offer in Commonwealth Games track and field history.
The country copped both 100 metres titles with wins from Sheri-Ann Brooks and Asafa Powell. 200-metre gold medals also came fromSherone Simpson and Omar Brown. The Jamaicans then completed the sweep with the two 4X100-metre relay wins in front of more than 80,000 fans at the MCG Stadium, watching the last session of track and field.
The Jamaicans finished the track and field competition second in the medal table with 22 medals, 10 gold, four silver and eight bronze. They were beat by hosts Australia.

Wow you sound like a very intelligent person. That was well put together about Holmwood. People are actually being productive here on Muzik Media. I think this was the purpose of this comments section, but there are those who as usual must abuse the system and show others how retarded they are.

Holmwood, I am proud
As a former student of Holmwood Tech (1993-1997) I must say I am very happy with your performance particularly in Athletics/ sports. As I sat in my living room and watched the Track and field team run away to victory, I quickly reminisce on what Monday morning would be like in the auditorium at devotion time. The exitement and the thunderous applause from fellow students and teachers as we celebrate our, yes our accomplishment. It did not stop there. To learn recently of the Cricket team's success again under the training of Mr. Lewis (my guidance teacher) only made me happier. Let us not forget that it was under the leadership/guidance and training of Mr Lewis that Ricardo Powell "curry" (who by the way was my classmate in 11E) made it to the West Indies cricket team. Big up to the athletes, students, pass students and Staff at the Holmwood Technical High School. I have and will always be proud of you guys. Keep it up... to be so far away yet feel so close is definately a good sign.

I am not knocking your point of view; everything that you said is true. I was trying to make a comparison in numbers and opportunities. why can't the Jamaican government put them on a salary? They are putting Jamaica in the "Spotlight", especially at a time when such negative publificity is comimg out of Jamaica. I would love to hear your take on this.

before the summer olympics the jamaican women 4x4 track team was doing nike comercial and I am sure they got someting,Jamaica also have its own product they want to sell like bounty kill doing digi cell phone comercial,my point is the u.s. olympic team does not pay there teams that much money they make it off endorcements so if jamaica want them atheletes to get payed to reprsent your country it ait going to happen.

To III@ (Correction Made)
They do all of that but you can't compare Jamaica with the US. Jamaica has 2.5 Million people, the US has 280+ Million people, so do the Maths. Do you mean they should market themselves in the US? If that's what you meant. Would you let an unknown Athlete to your population, advertise your products? Maybe or very unlikely!
