Guyanas deportees could get another shot at re-entry into the country. The government is currently in talks with the United States over procedures for returning deportees to the country. Last year alone, the U.S sent home over 520 Guyanese citizens, based on reports of various criminal offenses, including possession of narcotics, illegal entry, and the use of false documents. This year, twenty-six citizens have been deported, some of who illegally resided within the U.S over 30 years.
