Haiti has been officially readmitted to Caricom after being kicked out in 2004. The Caribbean Community and Common Market also invited Haiti's new president, Rene Preval, to participate in the group's next summit, from July 3rd to 6th, in St Kitts and Nevis.
Mr Preval has also been invited to speak at the opening.
Haiti was shut out of Caricom the day after former president Jean Bertrand Aristide resigned under threat of an armed rebellion.
