Two armed gangs clashed over control of a generator to see the World Cup, leaving six people dead.
The gang battles occurred in Cite Soleil, the biggest and one of the most violent shantytowns in Port-au-Prince.
Between five and six hours of power are available every day in certain quarters of the capital.
The UN Stabilization Mission in Haiti plans to distribute battery-powered televisions, footballs and Haitian flags during the World Cup. The world cup opened on June 9th in Germany.
