Cricket fans visiting the Caribbean for the 2007 Cricket World Cup will be able to move between host islands without stopping for passport processing, officials said last week.
This was the general accord by members of the Caribbean Community Caricom at their recent meeting in St Kitts. According to the Caricom cricket plan, All nine World Cup host nations and Dominica will be treated as a single entity from January 15 to May 15 of next year. This arrangement is part of an unprecedented regional security plan incorporating the US advanced passenger information system. Travellers will be pre cleared and their information shared amongst a pool of more than 400 security personnel. The move is expected to facilitate the movement of more than 50,000 visitors projected to flock into the region for the cricket world Cup.
