A FORMER SENATOR has predicted that by 2010 Barbados will be owned primarily by foreign investors. This was the view expressed by Reverend Gordon Matthews author of Death Of Barbados Unless. According to the Reverend, local and foreign investors were merely concerned about quick profits, while the political directorate thought about short-term benefits. He maintained that unless there was a change of policy, Barbados would beheaded for social dislocation because of the wholesale sell-out" or "rape of the island. The Reverend stated that whist he was not against foreign investors what was needed was a balance.
