In Trinidad, Former attorney general Ramesh Lawrence Maharaj has accused Prime Minister Patrick Manning of engaging in a conspiracy to kill Muslims in the Middle East, and using Trinidadian wealth for murder and genocide. Mharaj made these comments to some 150 citizens of the twin republic who joined him on day three of his eight-day march from Cedros to Port of Spain to protest the proposed construction of a smelter plant in the Chatham area."An expert recently said that this aluminium they want to manufacture here is going to be used by the Americans to kill Muslim people in the Middle East," Maharaj said Maharaj and his supporters walked from Three Hands Junction at La Brea to Avocat Junction where he was met by former leader of the opposition and former prime minister Basdeo Panday and his wife Oma Panday, addressing the crowd, stated that this protest of the UNC and the PNM against oppression was just the beginning.
