Barbados Foreign Minister, Dame Antoinette Miller, has called for the establishment of Caribbean health clinics run by young people, to guard against adult judgments and respond to the varied sexual and reproductive health needs of the Caribbean's adolescent population. Miller, told delegates attending a non-governmental meeting in London on "Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights for All" that adolescents complain all the time that in the traditional adult-run clinics the staff are too judgmental. To resolve the issue, she proposed the establishment of adolescent clinics, supported by local family planning associations, and partially run by adolescents themselves. |
