As Grenada continues to pick up the pieces from Hurricane Ivan, another phase of its housing reconstruction program is now complete. The Agency for Reconstruction and Development ARD has reported that the Simon Bolivar Human Settlement project at Lacalome in the parish of St David has reached its final stage and will be ready to accommodate residents as soon as infrastructural work has been finalized. Some 100 housing units were donated by the Venezuelan government, which also donated the services of a military team to undertake the construction of the single and semi detached structures. The ARD in collaboration with the Grenada Housing authority prepared the design and infrastructural work for the project and also completed the tendering process for the project. According to officials, the Grenada Electricity Services Ltd has already installed poles at the site whilst the National water and Sewerage authority is finalizing its plans for the provision of its services to the communitys new residents
