Casino owners are outraged by their Prime Ministers recent threat to shut down their operations. Prime Minister Manning, Miister of Finance in the twin Republic, made the offending statements during a recent budget presentation in which he reportedly condemned gaming as no good it destroyed family life and disrupted society. Manning said that his administration also had plans to do away with associated on line gaming activities. In response to the PMs statements, officials of the gaming industry are preparing to take legal action. Speaking at a Press conference, Annette Richards, owner of a local casino said her association would be seeking legal advice for members and staff of the gaming association. Richards said that shutting down the industry would be detrimental to Trinidads Tourism industry and the government should instead seek to boost the sector. Critics of the governments casino eradication policy claim that such a move could result in the loss of more than 13,000 jobs.
