A Barbadian attorney and his son have been charged for beating a black teenager as he walked through an upscale Bridgetown suburb. Mark Goodridge, a 53-year-old attorney of mixed-race ancestry and his 23 year old son Simon Mark Goodridge were jointly charged with causing serious bodily harm to the fifteen year old victim with intent to maim, disfigure or disable him. The elder Goodridge is separately charged for unlawful discharge of a firearm, unlawful assault on a juvenile and for inciting racial hatred. The father and son, who turned themselves in to police accompanied by their attorneys, were kept in cells until their court appearance. They were each granted bail of 10,000 Bajan dollars and will return to court on December 11.
