Officials in Barbados have announced plans to have 6 floating hotels docked in its ports during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007. The floating hotels form part of a fleet of 14 cruise ships contracted to supplement the 8000 rooming capacity of hotels on the island. Minister of Tourism , Noel Lynch indicated that come April 2007, the island expected to host more than 20, 000 guests, 12000 of whom would be accommodated by the floating hotels and 8 other cruise vessels. According to the Minister, the ship accommodation had been immediately picked up the Asian Market, with a large contingent of Indians buying out the rooms.
