In Jamaica, 14 people were murdered in a series of violent gang related acts perpetrated over the weekend. A number of civilians including an eighteen year old highschool graduate were made victims in the weekend massacre which claimed 14 lives, and also left aother 11 seriously inured. Police say that with respect to atleast one of the incidents, they suspect that a highly organised criminal network based in the Parish of St Andrew has begun to self-destruct. In one instance four men were shot dead and six others injured. The brutal slayings have pushed the murder toll in the parish to 158, exceeding the 137 recorded for the same period last year.
