Dr Michael Misick, Premier of the Turks and Caicos Islands, has announced the date for General Elections as February 9, 2007 with January 22 earmarked for Nomination Day. The announcement came at a press conference hosted by the Progressive National Party, where the Premier urged all citizens of the Turks and Caicos chain of islands to exercise their democratic rights by voting in the upcoming elections. Misick , confident of a second term in office, advocated that all sectors of the public participate in the election process in a decent, tolerant and most of all, peaceful manner.
