US Intelligence has confirmed that Raul Castro is definitely at the helm of governance in Cuba. According to the latest US military reports, the current regime in Cuba will remain relatively stable after the death of Fidel Castro, despite continual attempts by the US to destroy it. Director of the US Army Defense Intelligence Agency, Lt. Gen. Michael D. Maples said Raul Castro reported that Raul Castro has "widespread respect and support among Cuban military leaders who will be crucial in a permanent government succession." Although Raul Castro has stated that he would be willing to work toward cooling hostilities between Cuba and Washington he has also publicly declared that the communist regime would continue unabated under his leadership.
