There is grave concern among education authorities in Barbados over the growth of a disturbingly serious trend, the circulation of cell phone videos showing minors engaged in various sexual acts. In this latest incident, a video showing an underage school girl with a knapsack and Primary School uniform, performing oral sex in full view of the cell phone, has been widely distributed around the island. Chairman of the Barbados Child Care Board, David Harper says the school board and counseling authorities have been alerted. The guidance counsellor at the school will be giving its officer a report and the name of the parents and the process will definitely start," Harper said. Education authorities have acknowledged that this was not the first of such videos to be circulated in recent times. Barbadians seem not to understand the extent of this problem" Harper said. Meanwhile officers from the Juvenile Laison Scheme have promised to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.
