Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda Baldwin Spencer has signed a Memorandum of Understanding permitting the Manipal University of India to open a Branch Campus in Antigua. Manipal, a private university in India, already collaborates with the American University of Antigua School of Medicine in the granting of degrees recognized in the United States and around the world. This new campus will offer studies in multi disciplinary courses including communication studies, nursing, pharmacy, and tourism. Prime Minister Spencer, speaking at a graduation ceremony of the University of Manipal in India, said that his government was committed to this arrangement which would offer the people of Antigua and Barbuda and the rest of the Caribbean the chance to attain a high level of professional education.
