The Royal Grenadian Police Force came under scrutiny this week in an anthem nix up which caused much embarrassment to the islands Prime Minister, Dr Keith Mitchel. At the official handing over ceremony for a forty million dollar cricket stadium funded by the Government of China, the Royal Police force, in a tribute to the Republic of China for this very costly Cricket World Cup investment, struck up the Taiwanese national instead. Prime Minister Mitchell, offering his apologies to the hundreds of invited guests in attendance, said the playing of the Taiwanese anthem was an unfortunate mistake which would be fully investigated. China and Taiwan have been feuding over diplomatic issues for many years. Grenada, which enjoyed diplomatic relations with Taiwan for fifteen years, switched its alliance to China in 2005.
