At last one person was killed and another eight injured in yet another bloody battle between UN peace keeping authorities and Haitian rebel groups in the countrys capital Port au Prince. According to reports some 700 soldiers invaded the Cite Soleil slum in an operation intended to flush out the notorious gang leader, Evans, from his base in the citys Capital. According to UN spokesman David Wimhurst , this was the largest operation attempted by the UN so far in Cite Soleil. Wimhurt said the armed rebels put up heavy resistance but were eventually forced to abandon their headquarters by the UN troops.
