Law enforcement officers from the Organised Crime, Narcotics and Firearms Bureau (OCNFB) of the Trinidad and Tobago Police force believe they have made a major dent in a drug smuggling operation between T&T, Guyana and Canada. This comes after the officers discovered some 13.4 kilos of cocaine valued at 5.3 Million dollars stuffed, in pellet form, inside of vegetables on a plane destined for Canada. Further inspection of the cargo revealed even more of the illicit drugs hidden inside some baskets of tomatoes and bodi.. The Caribbean Star flight 600 which originated from Guyana, came to Trinidad and was about to take off for Canada when it was intercepted by the OCNFB. Officers said they were able to make the seizure after weeks of surveillance and intelligence gathering.
