In St Lucia, members of the local dive centre Scuba St Lucia are celebrating. The dive facility, located in the marine reserves at Anse Chastanet, has become the first and only dive centre to be accredited as a National Geographic Dive Center in the Windward Islands. Officials say this latest accomplishment can be traced back to 2004, when the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) International and National Geographic Society teamed up to develop and enhance standards in dive training to the industry by developing an accreditation programme. Scuba St Lucia, having successfully fulfilled the requisites, is now credited by PADI National Geographic for providing total quality and professionalism in dive education and experiences. |
