Controversial Muslim Minister the Hon. Louis Farrakhan recently visited St. Kitts where he met with government officials and gave an address. While there Minister Farrakhan criticized the IMF and World Bank lending policies. He indicated the debt of small countries permitted the lending bodies to dictate economic and political policy. Though born in Massachusetts, his mother, a kittian, raised him in the culture of the Caribbean. An accomplished musician, the Minister once made a living as a Calypsonian known as the Mighty Charmer.
