In St Lucia, members of the Chinese Diplomatic Core are steaming over the recent visit of Taiwans Foreign Minister James Huang in late March. Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang criticized the St Lucian government for allowing the visit and blasted Taipei for trying to split China. It is against the principle set in the communiqu between China and St Lucia and hurt the feelings of the Chinese people," Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang said. He commented that St Lucia should respect the One China principle and accused Taiwan of using despicable means to create two Chinas in the international community. China has never recognized Taiwans sovereignty and has vowed to bring the self-governed democracy of 23 million people back under mainland rule, by force if necessary.
