CARICOM chairman Ralph Gonsalves says that he will be pushing for increased functional cooperation amongst Caricom states during his term as Chairman of the Caribbean Community. The Vincentian Head of Government said that he also wanted to see a more coordinated approach to relations between CARICOM and other regions such as Latin America and Eastern Europe during his stint at the helm of the rotating chairmanship, which ends in June this year. Gonsalves made these remarks at a recently held press conference at the secretariats headquarters in Guyana as part of an official visit which included talks with CARICOM Secretary General Edwin Carrington and other executives. During the visit, Gonsalves officially opened a cricket exhibition housed at the Secretariat Celebrating West Indies Cricket. The exhibition which runs until April 27, highlights the regions cricketing history, heroes and symbols.
