The bodies of some 59 Haitians, who drowned last week after their boat allegedly capsized en route to the US, were returned home this week. The bodies were transported to the city of Cap Haitians in a refrigerated container aboard the Sea Link Caribe boat. The 78 survivors were taken back to Haiti last week whilst the completely decomposed bodies of two of the deceased were buried in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Some of the survivors have claimed that the police vessel rammed the sail ship and did nothing to assist passengers who were pitched into the shark invested waters. Authorities in the Turks and Caicos Islands have denied these claims, and insist that the vessel capsized whist it was being towed to shore by a police boat.
