Acting Prime Minister of St Lucia, Dr Stephenson King has confirmed the worst. St Lucias Prime Minister, Sir John Compton did infact suffer from a series of small strokes and was admitted to a hospital in New York since May 1 for treatment. The Cabinet of Ministers authorized Leonard Montoute, the deputy political leader of the ruling party, to travel to New York last week to provide support to the PMs family. Montoute confirmed that Sir John had some difficulty with his speech and had to be assisted by someone with his walking. Dr Keith Mitchell, Prime Minister of Grenada, has called on Grenadians and other Caribbean people to continue praying for Sir John. Baldwin Spencer, Chairman of the OECS Authority and Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda has also called on St Lucians and other OECS nationals to continue praying for the speedy recovery of St Lucia's Prime Minister. Sir John returned to St Lucia this past weekend.
