In St Vincent and the Grenadines, political tensions between the governing Unity Labour Party, ULP and the Opposition, New Democratic Party (NDP) have sparked a public protest and March by supporters of the NDP against the Gonsalves led administration. At a public protest and march in the islands capital, Kingstown, President of the NDP and Leader of the Opposition, Arnhim Eustace, accused the ULP of stealing the last elections then unveiled the ULPs alleged plans to use Cubans as dummy voters in the 2011 elections. Eustace made reference to an announcement made PM Gonsalves last year when he stated that an international airport would be constructed in St Vincent with assistance from Cuba, Venezuela, Taiwan and Mexico. According to Eustace, Gonsalves intended to register more then 500 cubans as voters in strategic constituencies so as to ensure a victory in the elections. The PM has not responded to the accusations.
