In news from Antigua and Barbuda, the Ministry of Public Works has announced plans to hire even more Cuban workers to complete work on the resurfacing and reconstruction of many of that islands roadways. Responding to criticism from those opposed to hiring foreign nationals to perform the tasks. Director of Works Charles worth Barry Davis explained that it is much more cost effective to utilize workers from Cuba to supplement Public Works staff. Davis said many Public Works road workers are older men with limited ability to undertake the arduous labor for which they are employed, while it is difficult to attract younger and healthier men to the task.
