Trinidad and Tobagos Prime Minister Patrick Manning has promised some 3 billion dollars to promote development on the lesser developed of the twin islands, Tobago. Manning made the announcement at what has been described as a historic sitting of Parliament, being the first time such a large portion of funds would be allocated for the development of the smaller isle. Manning revealed that the money would go towards the construction of a new Tobago Hospital, the extension of the Claude Noel highway as well as for the completion of the Crowne Point Airport. The PM said that work would also be done on an administrative complex at Boxborough as well as the Sure Park Cultural Facilities.
