President of the Inter-American Development Bank Luis Alberto Moreno has praised the Guyanese Government for its development projects aimed at enabling citizens to own their own homes. Moreno said that he was pleased that people are able to construct houses through arrangements with the banking sector via Government. The IDM president made these comments whilst attending a site visit at Kaneville, East Bank Demerara. During the visit, Moreno conducted an inspection of infrastructure and also spoke with residents. He stressed the need for proper maintenance programs which would ensure the sustainability of the public infrastructure.
