President Leonel Fernandez whilst inaugurating a further multipurpose educational building as part of the Pontificial Catholic University in Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic, stated that unfortunately the national debt created by former governments is holding the country back in his push for further education.
Fernandez proposes to spend even more on education than in 2006 as he again stresses the importance of education for the Dominican people.
