FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
New York, NY- April 27, 2005 - Ky-enie's highly anticipated debut single Wings of an Angel is now available on wax. Coming out on the Big Yard imprint (www.bigyardmusic.com) with distribution being handled by VP/Atlantic Records (www.vprecords.com), "Wings of an Angel" is set to take the international Reggae community to the next level. Wings, a timeless acoustic ballad, may be the last song some would expect to mark the beginning of such an explosive career, but as the saying goes, keep your eyes on the quiet ones.
Ky-enie, a Reggae artist who has been blazin' a trail on New Yorks local music scene for years, is now prepared to make international moves. His trademark raspy vocals, high-octane stage performance and lyrical skillfulness have long caught the attention of grassroots Reggae fans. And early this year the Reggae industry finally took note. The year 2005 found veteran Reggae music producer, Robert Livingston, taking a second listen to Ky-enie's sound. Soon Ky-enie found himself voicing over riddims at the famed Big Yard studio. "Don't Wanna Be Alone", the second most requested song on Big Yard's "My Baby" riddim and, along with Wings, is in constant rotation on Jamaicas airwaves and stays on the request line here in the States.
The top quality music video to Wings of an Angel, directed by Nadia Sampson and Tim Taylor, has been making the rounds on the Caribbean video shows in the US since December 2004 and runs like water in Jamaica. The BET-type production has industry insiders wondering how a new artist can step onto the scene so on point. They will soon find out what the rest of us already know everything Ky-enie touches turns to gold. Multi-platinum too!
Look for Ky-enie this summer at Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest 2005, Reggae Carifest, Irie Jamboree and more. For more information on this artist, join the mailing list on his website: www.ky-enie.com!
